After After Party July 22, 2012

Such a fierce, hot day - 107 during the day, 95 degrees when I left for the radio studio. Was just a tiny bit concerned about the vinyl surviving the trip, but it'll take more than a minor July inferno to keep me from bringing real analog goodness to the airwaves. With dips into psyched-out disco edit territory, a little hip-hop, synthesizer experiments, some deep techno and edgy bass-heavy electro tunes, there's something for everything in this podcast.

It was my pleasure this week to have Chico's own DJ/producer Oilpanic in the studio to mix up some of his favorite current sounds. Hjalmar Hake aka Oilpanic hails originally from Sweden but has called Chico his home for many years. He's recently released techno tracks and EPs to critical acclaim on the local 530Techno label as well as Blipswitch, Musical Missionaries and Waveform, and has been nominated numerous times for best electronic artist in Chico. Oilpanic brought in his Traktor rig and I let him take over the show for this rare treat. Hope you enjoy the podcast.
